PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In order to educate our scholars, the MWS faculty must be knowledgeable about issues concerning the environment. At MWS, there is a desire for “green” education. Our teachers, along with the support of the Principal have focused on green education and the environment by participating in various workshops and events at the school. For example, the teachers attend and assist with class presentations given by the City of Baltimore and AquaPartners. Teachers attended the Outdoors and Environment as a Teaching Tool seminar in our own school grounds. We have enjoyed teacher representation at the 2019 MAEOE conference to share insights with staff.
All staff know of the MDGS application.
Staff were emailed intent to apply in 2018, and requested updates for steps like Professional Development. A Green Meeting was held to help inform the MWS community. The findings were to refocus on 2018-2019. Follow up emails were sent with input requests where needed thereafter.
