CELEBRATION
The Green School Program notes the importance of commending and recognizing the students, faculty, community, and parents’ achievements associated with their environmental activities. This should be open to the public and should display all of the best management practices at the school. The school should report all of its accomplishments and be proud of all they have achieved in order to instill pride in the entire student body, faculty, and parents who participated in the events. This engagement shows the students that the community cares about all the environmental education going on at their school. Below are highlights from our bigger celebrations.
Earth Day Celebration
The Mount Washington School celebrates Earth Day annually. Pictures from 2016 to 2018 are shown here with text and below in the picture gallery. Together our Green Council Leaders and Energy Captains ran information exhibits and games to share with all the kids of our school. Classes were brought to the blacktop by grade bands to ensure projects could be viewed. Full days of crafts projects and green topics were shared across the whole school. We worked with our partners from Clayworks, Baltimore Energy Challenge and the Mount Washington Preservation Trust to share green knowledge on sustainability, conservation, and our natural world.
