PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In order to educate
the students, the MWS faculty must be knowledgeable about all of the issues and
problems concerning the environment. At
MWS, there is a desire for “green” education.
Our teachers, along with the support of the Principal have focused
on green education and the environment by participating in various
workshops and events at the school. For example, the teachers attend and
assist with class presentations given by the City of Baltimore, Blue Water
Baltimore, and AquaPartners. Not only that, they have attended our first
Green Festival and Harvest Festival. The teachers at MWS are highly
engaged with the students and families.
Furthermore, Ms. Torr, the Principal, addressed the
staff at a meeting on November 18, 2013, describing the Green School
application and how staff and teachers can assist. Ms. Torr requested
that teachers send in documentation such as lesson plans and photographs to
submit with the green school recertification process.
